The City that Brought Us Together
Over the last 20 years, Elgin has become the place that brought our family together. It started when my cousin and her husband moved here shortly after they were married. A year later, our household followed, and one by one, other family members made Elgin home as well. Today, six households spanning three generations all live in the community, despite originally being scattered across different parts of the Chicagoland area.
Every year, we discover new reasons to love Elgin. From the outstanding programs and activities offered through the Park District, to the character of its distinct neighborhoods, to the vibrant downtown area filled with local businesses, events, and restaurants, Elgin continues to surprise us. More than just a city, it has become the backdrop for family gatherings, milestones, and memories. We are grateful to call Elgin home and look forward to enjoying all it has to offer for years to come.
